Philippines-Australia Land Administration and Management Project - Phase II (LAMP II)

In February 2006, LEI were awarded a three year contract to implement the AusAID funded Land Administration and Management Project - Phase II (LAMP II). LAMP II is part of a long-term commitment by the Government of the Philippines (GOP) to Land Administration and Management reform (LAM). LAMP II has been designed to extend the learning experiences of LAMP I to other provinces and municipalities throughout the Philippines with the view of supporting its long-term LAM program goal of reducing poverty and enhancing economic growth by improving the security of land tenure in urban and rural areas in the Philippines.

LAMP II has been designed to initially focus on building human resource capacity and institutional strengthening in support of expanded tenure security and improved land valuation. LEI will pilot and replicate improvements in land administration and valuation activities which are achievable under the current legislation. Our emphasis, however, is on supporting the passing of broader legislative reforms designed to create a single Land Administration Authority and a National Appraisal Authority as the basis for longer term land administration reform.
