Education and training are fundamental to supporting the introduction of land administration and land management reforms. Our emphasis is on building a progressive body of knowledge and experience in land administration to support future development and sustainability.
LEI are experienced in developing curriculum and training materials and presenting courses in the various fields related to land administration (surveying, mapping, GPS, valuation, land registration, community consultation, adjudication). We also believe in developing in-country capacity to facilitate continual professional development and foster leadership. We work with local institutions at the tertiary and vocational level to develop syllabus, course programs, module content and training techniques.
While formal education and training are important we also promote informal capacity building through networking, relationship building, workshops, study tours, train the trainer initiatives, work experience and ongoing mentoring.
In addition to a competent public sector, we believe a healthy private sector of surveyors, lawyers and real estate professionals are essential to supporting and maintaining this system. Introducing professional development training, performance based assessments, licensing, and accreditation are just some of the ways we assist with the ongoing development of human capital in both the public sector and private sector.
