LEI is recognised for its unique expertise in designing and undertaking large scale systematic adjudication and registration of land rights. We have developed and tested land titling procedures and undertaken systematic adjudication in countries such as Thailand, Philippines, Laos and Indonesia.
We managed the registration and issuance of land titles for:
• 470,000 parcels in Laos
• 8.6 million parcels in Thailand
• 1.82 million parcels in Indonesia
• 1.35 million parcels in Peru
Improved registration benefits local governments by providing revenue from local taxes on property and improving the spatial data on which to base land use planning. Systematic adjudication also provides a range of benefits to land holders by providing affordable title and tenure security, often at a price well below cost, reducing backlogs in courts, and providing access to credit.
We provide assistance with:
• Developing and testing procedures to streamline and expedite registration and improve customer service
• Developing manuals for systematic adjudication
• Training field teams to undertake systematic adjudication and survey
• Improving the comprehensiveness and integrity of land titles
• Designing community education strategies and materials to encourage registration and reduce disputes
