Project Narrative
To provide training to the DIFC Registrar of Real Estate in order to familiarise him with the working and operations of a modern land registry organisation.
This training included:
- An overview of the value of effective land registration systems
- An overview of legal framework and institutional arrangements for registration of titles
- An introduction to the role of the Land Registry
- A tour of the Queensland land registry
- An overview of strata title
- Buying and selling property – process, roles in the conveyancing process, hands on experience of registration activities including public counter, document flows, document checking, registration process, handling of requisitions etc
- Introduction to land taxation system and revenue generation streams from land registration
- An overview of computerisation – the process of going from a manual system to a computerised land registry.
Key services provided
The Land Registration Specialist facilitated and provided a specialist training program for the DIFC Registrar of Real Estate. This included an international program of three full days of training in Australia and offsite mentoring through personal contact telephone/email. Further the Land Registration Specialist provided a 2 day training program in Dubai including technical advice on improving the DIFC land registration system.
